Groove & Grow
The all new sport and entertainment system custom designed for mother & child. Dance, sing, play instruments, all while exploring music culture around the world and connecting with your child. Co-created with a young mother who is trying to balance work, raising a curious and energetic child, and doing sports.
Background
The whole process of creating this product was intertwined with insight and feedback from Christine*, a young mom with a 1.5 years old child who is always looking for fun. The ideas for the product emerged from understanding the challenges she faces every day and were further refined and selected with her feedback. For more information see Background and Co-design.
Product
The complete system consists of the main console with a screen and speakers, a microphone, drumsticks, and a big drum that is used with hands that can also be transformed into a tambourine. You choose the music in the system and then choose separately for mom and child whether you dance, sing, or play one of the instruments. On the screen it shows what both need to do while the music is playing. All of the music is also organized in an "Around the world" manner so you experience different cultures.
